| | | | BOAT OWNER'S NOTES: Feel free to call John @ 910-755-6265.
The first thing you notice about my boat is the Downeast look enhanced by the dark green hull and oyster
finish.
The rugged good looks of this 2007 Albin are a credit to the original Swedish design developed by
Albin Larson in 1899 to handle the rugged waters of the Scandinavian Coastline.
In 1966 a Dutch seaman
named Fred Peters, became President of Albin USA and is credited with introducing the popular Albin line
of Downeast boats to the US.
This new style caught the imagination of boaters looking for rugged quality
construction and sea worthiness at a fair price and the 28 Albin Tournament Express Flush-deck epitomizes
the original Albin designs.
Whether you are fishing, weekending with the family or just cruising, this boat is equipped to accommodate
your wishes in style and with grace.
The ride comfort you experience is attributable to the design of the
progressive modified vee hull with 16 degree deadrise and a sturdy skeg that enhances tracking, adds
stability and protects the prop from damage.
The wheelhouse is fully enclosed at the rear with dark green Sunbrella and heavy duty clear vinyl windows.
The zippered “hatch” that facilitates entry rolls up and stores conveniently.
Port and starboard wheelhouse
bulkheads feature sturdy sliding safety glass windows and visibility forward is through three spacious
windows, each with their own separate wiper and control.
Ventilation is enhanced by the opening center
windshieldld.
Seating in the wheelhouse, spacious in the flush deck design, accommodates five, while a
custom installed factory helm seat allows the co-pilot the same view and comfort as the Captain.
The helm station has full engine instrumentation ergonomically located in the overhead console with the
engine panel.
The Captain has a Garmin 4212 Chartplotter, radar, depth finder and a Ritchie compass in
full view on the dashboard.
Throttle, ZF transmission conl, Lewmar windlass controls, Vetus bow thruster
joystick, windshield wiper controls, DSC capable VHF, Bennett hydraulic trim tab controls and Sea-Dog
breakers for the 4212 and VHF are at his/her fingertips.
An auxiliary VHF speaker is installed just under the
overhead console enhancing the clarity of all radio calls.
Breaker- less waterproof toggles on the bulkhead
just below and to the right of the wheel control functions such as the horn, overhead lighting, navigation
lights, and raw water pump to name but a few.
An under seat bin and locking storage cabinets add utility.
The cockpit contains two sturdy “flip-up” cockpit seats with cushions to match the cockpit seating and
combing pads.
The transom houses a double hatch oversized fish box and a separate oversized live
well.
The transom door leads aft to the swim platform beneath which is a folding boarding ladder, and
conveniently installed in this passageway is a hot & cold freshwater transom shower.
The port and starboard
bulkhead contain racks for fishing rods and allows power cordage for the 30 amp dockside service
connection to be wrapped and safely stowed.
The forward port bulkhead contains shore-water direct and
freshwater tank fill utilities.
The extended roof has a stainless radar arch and custom built aluminum rocket
launcher aft, two fiberglass whip VHF antennas and GPS antenna forward in addition to sturdy stainless
grab rails on the port and starboard perimeters conveniently placed as handholds.
Looking at the foredeck your eyes are drawn to the graceful contour of the shear and the ample deck
forward where the Lewmar windless is installed just aft of the bow pulpit.
The double hatch anchor locker
will hold more line that most boaters will ever need.
No need to worry going forward on the deck of this
boat designed with safety in mind, there is a stainless steel bow rail that fully extends to the rear of the
wheelhouse.
The forward cabin has an enclosed vacu-flush head, stainless sink with pressurized hot/cold water, vanity,
medicine cabinet and mirror.
There is a 110 volt outlet for convenient use of hair dryers and electric shavers.
The galley area is home to a microwave oven, butane stove, 12v DC/110v AC reffrigerator and a stainless
sink with pressurized water.
Cabinets and cupboards are ample and there is an installed custom hanging
locker.
An additional 110V outlet is conveniently and safely installed in the cupboard to the right of the sink.
An AM/FM CD player weather radio is installed at the top of this locker, with stereo speakers built into the
forward bulkhead.
The dinette table converts to a queen V-berth.
The midberth provides additional sleeping
or storage and provides access to the port side of the engine.
The midberth is brightened with its own two
portholes.
Controls for the heat pump are conveniently located for reach from the dinette seating areas or V-
berth.
Below decks you will find the powerful and thrifty Yanmar 6LPA-STP 315 and Entec West Genset which is
installed in a custom stainless steel sound reducing enclosure.
As of this writing, the engine has less than
300 and the Genset only 30 hours of operating time.
A Sea-Fire automatic fire suppression system has also
been installed, providing peace of mind and insurance discounts.
A “Tides”-shaft seal is installed, and all
seacocks and strainers are bronze.
All through-hull fittings are bonded as you would expect on a vessel of
this quality.
I have undoubtedly forgotten something in this description and assure you it is unintentional.
If my
grandchildren had not moved to Arizona she would not be for sale.
Whoever is fortunate enough to acquire
her will be the owner of a safe, well-fitted vessel he or she will be proud of.
