Beneteau 473 – Tommy Bahama – Frenchkiss II
Launched: June 2005 - Fresh Water Only
This “Limited Edition” Beneteau 473 is one of the prettiest Beneteau sailboats to leave the factory.
A must see.
The Tommy Bahama “Limited Edition” version was produce in very limited numbers, The interior and exterior colors and accessories are from the Tommy Bahama team.
There are many hardware upgrades that are in the tommy Bahama package.
The Beneteau 473 combines extraordinary interior comfort, volume and light with exceptional blue water strength, When you enter the boat below, the cherry wood and teak/holly wood floor gives you a very warm rich feeling, You will find that the 473 boasts more features and creature comforts than ever before built in a boat this size.
The evolution toward better performance should come as no surprise because the 473 was designed by the French design consortium Groupe Finot, responsible for many of the world’s fastest offshore racing and cruising monohulls.
The 473 was conceived to work well as a family cruiser and fun to sail, The major design criteria for the 473 was to have a good balance between stability and sailing power.
With a displacement of 27,000 pounds, the 473 is no lightweight, yet with the boat’s 43’10” static waterline and a Displacement/Length (D/L) ratio of 144, Those measurements put the 473 at the performance end of the cruising boat spectrum.
The rig is designed to be easy for a couple to handle at sea and offers very moderate working sail area for a boat of this size of only 1,116 square feet, The Sail Area to Displacement (SA/D) ratio, measuring the power of the rig and high-end performance, is a very moderate 16.2., Combined with an easily driven hull riding a long waterline, this sail plan will move the boat very well even in moderately light airs.
In addition it is very easy to handle in heavier air.
