Vehicle Description
Freedom II is a 27 foot Cal designed by Jensen Marine.
She is very solid due to the very thick fiberglass process used to make her hull.
If you are familiar with Cal boats you are aware they are known for strength and performance.
I am the third owner of this boat and have only had her for two years.
She was previously owned for about 15 years by two brothers who cared for her very well.
They even changed the oil the last three years they owned her even though she was never put into the water.
We sailed her last year in Narranganset Bay and even went to Cuttyhunk and Point Judith.
Even in rough seas she performed well and remained stable.
The following are standard equipment included with the boat:
Fin Keel, Spade Rudder- Tiller in cockpit.
4 Sails including: Main (good condition), Headsails (100%, 125% and 150% all in good condition), Spinaker with Pole (good condition).
Fully Battened Main, Roller Furling Head Sail.
Anchor Locker with feedthrough, Access is in the V-berth forward.
11 HP Universal Deisel Motor (Runs Excellent) with Forward / Reverse Transmission, Stuffing box driveshaft with prop.
Sleeps 5 Total (2 in V-berth, 1 Starboard side settee, 2 Port side settee).
Head with holding tank and macerator, vanity with sink and faucet (electric).
Icebox, Breadbox, 2 Burner Alcohol Stove, Galley sink with faucet (electric).
All of the following have been either upgraded or replaced last year (2006).
Transmission (Brand new, not rebuilt), Starter for Deisel (Rebuilt), Injectors (serviced, pop-tested), Fuel Tank (10 gallon).
Instrument Panel with all gauges (fuel, temperature, battery), glow plug pushbutton.
Hatchway Guides and cover (upgraded to Seaboard instead of plywood, etc, see pictures), Exterior topdeck rails (stainless steel).
All 4 Lifelines replaced, All 4 cable stays replaced (2003), some running rigging.
3 Marine Batteries with new triple battery charger, Dual battery switches, fuse panel, all interior lighting.
Galley and vanity counter tops with new sinks and 12V electric faucets with pumps.
Head system complete with new holding tank, macerator pump, sanitation lines, etc.
Head liner and Hull liner replaced throughout (see pictures), cushions replaced (2003).
New Electric Bilge pump, AM/FM/CD Stereo with 6 speakers and cockpit remote control.
