The Carver was bought as an introduction to boating on the Columbia River and to check out whether my wife and I were compatible with the water.
I’ve completely restored the mechanical system in the boat.
We have traveled extensively on the Upper Columbia and Snake rivers.
We have mostly used the boat for cruising.
One of our greatest pleasures has been the passage through the locks at the dams on both rivers.
We have been through seven of the nine locks, which have a rise/fall of 80’ to 120’.
This is quite exciting, particularly for the first time trip.
The boat has been under cover for the last five years.
