Have you been watching the Extreme 40 and America's Cup cats and
wanting some of that sort of sailing Rosebud offers it in a practical
package that can be easily sailed, demounted, and trailered.
She was
designed by Swiss Lakes Multihull guru and Alinghi designer Seb
Schmidt http//www.sebschmidt.ch, and built in France by Technologie
MarineCharlie Capelle.
Full carbon, epoxy, foam cored, canted hulls,
asymetrical carbon daggerboards, high modulus carbon mast and boom,
and large carbon hiking racks give amazing performance.
All carbon
beams and bowsprit, without strikers for a totally clean under tramp
area.
Each hull has five watertight compartments with crashbow
bulkheads.
The sail inventory has been designed by North's Paul
'Whirley' van Dyke to include a full range of light and heavy air, and
specialty sails.
She has just completed an extensive and meticulous
refit to better than new condition.
Custom professional Awlgrip paint
with clear coat, 4000 grit racing bottom, new standing and running
rigging, and many new carbon components.
Her handling is unmatched,
with two-finger helm control in all conditions.
Speeds of 2 to 2.5
times true windspeed are common, with top upwind speed of 17.5 kts and
off the wind speeds of 30 kts.
Electronics include twin digital
speedos, portable Garmin mapping GPS plotter, and Rockbox performance
computer www.rockcitymarine.com.
While totally optimized for
performance, she could also make a blazing camper-cruiser for a couple
between races.
The easily reefable, full batten main with lazy jacks,
simple rack folding or removal, 8hp Mariner outboard, self tacking 3DL
jib, roller gennakers make handling simple.
The interior is minimal,
but offers sitting headroom, two tight berths, and room below for
gear.
A portable head, one burner stove, and cooler could be easily
added.
Additional equipment Galvanized trailer with custom aluminum
dollies for each hull, seven sails, Harken and Frederiksen hardware,
