Description: 1957 Matthews 42' Stock Cruiser Fly-Bridge Sedan
ership in Long Island, The
Matthews Boat Company has a very long and lustrous history.
If your a
boat lover enthusiast, you may want to learn more about them here at:
httpwww.matthewsboatownersassoc.comhistory.html
They started buildinn
boats in 1890 They are unsurpassed and worth every ounce Just ask a
couple deceased Presidents, Bobby Orr, the Ringling Brothers, and a
Boat load of famous people who've owned one.
For those of you who
already know the Matthews, Im sure you know enough to know, and are no
doubt here because of a rare chance to get hold of a rare Matthews up
for sale.
Boat has tremendous pedigree and in beautiful condition.
A
true find, it does need some restoration regards to modern upgrades
like a newer galley, and head, but overall in unbelievable condition.
With a little elbow grease, a few new screws and a fresh coat of
paint, and this Matthews will be as good as new and better.
It will be
the talk of the Marina and turn heads everywhere and at every port you
go.
The boat has been professionally maintained in the same awesome
yard since first commissioned in 1957 with only 2 real owners its
whole life, and the same people who took such care of her all her life
are still there today.
Hull is solid with very little effort needed,
there are 3 planks that need refastening, interior is in original
condition and has never been bastardized.
The engines were replaced in
1976 with Mercruiser 454's 350 hp FWC Fresh water cooled and have
aprox 760 hrs since installation.
They came with a Marvin s Mystery
oil injinjector pump, depositing drops of Marvins Mystery Oil directly
into the carburetors for smooth clean runnig and strong longevity.
Boat has been stored in a closed boat shed for the last 4 years More
photo's available on request and answers to questions as well.
Cockpit
doors fold open coopletely for huge entry to salon creating a Huge
space for lots of people and openness.
Im flexible and want to see
this gorgeous boat go to someone who can truly appreciate an
incredible hand made in AMERICA, by master craftsman, with a
phenomenal history, with the most graceful lines.
They just don't make
them like this anymore, and don't be fooled, Wooden Boats are making a
major comeback.
Why Because of superior craftsmanship and
seaworthiness, and there just plain sexiness.
All boats need
maintenance period, and when well maintained they are by far superior
to Fiberglass.
I know, Ive been there, done that, with both, and have
been on, in, and around boats my whole life and have restored many.
I
may be somewhat of a classic, but if you are too, this ones for you.
