This 2003 Powerquest 280 SC shares a lot of the dimensions the look and the layout of a Formula 280 SS, but with a bit more headroom in the cabin, We were fortunate to find this boat stored on its trailer inside a former Powerquest dealer in absolute showroom condition, We purchased the boat and trailer new in April 2008, We were impressed with the quality—the heavy vinyl (36 oz) upholstery with double stitched seems, the 40 oz carpet in the cabin and the engines are thru bolted to the stringer system and the rigging is done with cushioned stainless steel clamps.
The large cockpit area features wraparound seating with space for a crowd, plus portside companion lounge and double wide helm seat w/flip up bolster at the helm, Foredeck access is provided via molded helm steps w/walk-thru windshield or thru Bomar deck hatch, Walk-thru door provides easy access to cockpit area from the swim platform, At the helm, I have access to full Faria instrumentation, Ritchie compass, depth-sounder and operate the Mercruiser 350 Mag MPI Bravo 3 engines (approx 110 engine hrs) with Gaffrig split shifter/throttle controls, I also have remote access to the stereo system from the helm
Stepping down into the cabin provides access to comfortable V-berth, micro-wave oven, ceramic cooktop, fiberglass head w/vacu-flush porcelain commode, sink and built in-shower, This is also where the switch panel w/circuit breakers, the pressure water system tank monitor and CO detector are located.
