This 1985 Senator is bulletproof!
As a Captain logging in the required hours offshore to obtain my license, I have been in some pretty rough seas with her.
On one trip we encountered over 10' seas with waves breaking over the flybridge 15' high.
My passengers were warm and dry inside, the boat barely twitched, and the autopilot took us accurately to our headings from buoy to buoy, despite 30 mph winds.
As a trawler with a full displacement hull, she doesn't go fast, but she goes steady through anything, and looks good doing it!
She also fishes well with 8 rod holders, an 8'x12' cockpit, sink, and door to the swim platform.
Dual instruments and steering stations both on the flybridge and inside the cabin make her comfortable to take out and cruise in any weather, The recently installed generator and reverse cycle heat pumps also provide heat/ac as needed.
The Perkins diesel is extremely reliable and has less than 2,000 hours (should last 10,000) and is economical to run with today's fuel costs (2 gals/hour @ 8 knots or 2,000 RPM).
Taurus2 was surveyed for insurance in September 2010 and all deficiencies were corrected, At that time the value was placed at $64,400, with the replacement cost at $415,500, In addition to the original purchase price I have spent over $70,000 not on maintenance, but upgrades, which I will show a potential buyer.
This is the salon model, with beautiful teak interior woodwork, parquet floors, full galley, full head, a queen berth in the bow, and fold down dinette guest bunk.
She will seat 12 passengers easily, and has ample storage throughout.
I have recently brought her to Essex Maryland from Washington NC.
She performed perfectly and all systems are working.
Turn key ready for the next owner at less than 15% of new!
